CIDH Demands Protection from Mexico for Immigrants
The President of the Inter-American Human Rights Commission (CIDH), Felipe Gonzalez would travel to Mexico due to the serious situations that immigrants are facing, this is related to the 72 victims of August.
“We are having dialogues with the State to set a date regarding the repeated kidnapping of immigrants and the slaughter a few months ago.” Added Gonzalez.
During the last days of August Mexican militaries discovered the bodies of 72 immigrants executed on the Tamaulipas state. The victims were immigrants from El Salvador, Honduras, and Ecuador. This manslaughter was done by the Los Zetas drug cartel.
Currently the CIDH asked the Mexican Government to investigate the homicides and take the necessary precautions to guarantee the safety of immigrants.
