Posted On 24 Aug 2012
Today the British Foreign Ministry delivered a letter to the Embassy of Ecuador, where Wikileaks’ founder, Julian Assange, has been housed to avoid extradition to Sweden.
A spokesman for the British Foreign Ministry said it had sent a formal communication to the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to resume talks on the situation of Julian Assange.
The letter was delivered on Thursday. The Foreign Ministry on Friday refused to reveal the contents of the letter. The aim would be to resume talks on the status of Assange, in which both countries have opposing views. (FL)
