The alert to the Coast Guard Command of the Navy was given last Wednesday. A boat with drugs, presumably set sail from Tumaco, Colombia, to Central America and / or North America. But it would first stop in the Genovesa island, northwest of the Galapagos Islands to refuel or to stock up on food.
This information was confirmed at 14:00 on Sunday, when after an hour of searching, a group of coast guards located the semi-submersible. The three occupants, of Colombian nationality, jumped into the sea and tried to escape. The ship was intercepted about a mile from the Genovesa island, which is about 700 miles from San Cristobal.
