A sixth shipment of doses of vaccines against the coronavirus arrives this week in Ecuador
A total of 73,710 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines against the coronavirus will arrive this Wednesday, March 10 in the afternoon at the Mariscal Sucre airport in Quito.
It will be the fifth shipment of vaccines of that coalition and, according to the Government, will allow to continue with phase 1 of the immunization plan.
Phase 1
The Executive has prioritized for this phase health personnel from the public and private network, older adults, members of the public force and firefighters, teachers at all levels, vulnerable population, waste collection personnel, personnel from strategic sectors .
This week, a statement from the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) indicated, 100% of the application of first doses to health personnel of the public and private network will end.
For this, the Minister of Health, Rodolfo Farfán, has requested the list of personnel from the National Federation of Doctors and the National Federation of Nurses so that no member of the health personnel remains unvaccinated.
In January, the first shipment to Ecuador of 8,190 doses arrived.
In February, a second batch brought in 16,380.
A third shipment arrived with 17,500 and last week a fourth arrived with more than 31,000 doses.
There was also a donation of 20,000 doses from Chile of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine.
