The National Fisheries Institute was visited by a Mexican researcher to know the methodology of the study of the size, age and vulnerability of this marine resource, according to the practice at this very matter developed in Mexico.

Researcher Enrique Morales Bohorquez, specialist of fisheries and biomathematics at the Center for Biological Research of Northwest Mexico, suggests that the same model is applied to the data of the giant squid of Ecuadorian waters.

In August and October more courses and workshops will be conducted in order to perform quantitative analyzes based on indicators of relative abundance, as well as structures of mantle length and age.
