Affiliate´s discomfort by computer error

The reserve funds area, located on the second floor of the headquarters building of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS), in Quito, records the biggest presence of members from the middle of this month.

The agency acknowledged this week that the interests of reserve funds have been miscalculated by an error in its computer system.

Decydee Sarabia did not know about this problem. Yesterday she came to this office to find out why her account registered USD 2 147 this week instead of USD 3 200. They indicated her that the difference is due to a computer error that miscalculated the interest.
