Aid reaches to Quininde, which is on alert for flooding

The aid began to arrive for the inhabitants of the parishes of Cube and Rosa Zárate,in Quininde, Esmeraldas, which are affected by the floods. Due to the magnitude of the damage caused by the overflowing of the rivers Cube, Viche and Tachina, the Risk Management Secretariat (SGR) declared the emergency for this sector.
According to the assessment made by the SGR, the most-hit area is the community of Cube, in the parish of the same name, where 82 families are homeless and other 10 affected, comprising a total of 399 people. Other sectors with problems are Bolivar, El Roto and Viche. While in the communities of Palma Real and Zapotal Bajo, of the Rosa Zárate parish, 70 families are affected.
35 affected homes, 40 destroyed homes are and the interruption of electricity have been regitered because of the fall poles. In addition, in coordination with local authorities, the SGR seeks to rehabilitate the running water service to Cube.
