Noboa Trading Co. (former Exportadora Bananera Noboa), owned by Álvaro Noboa Pontón, is already close to the second largest exporter in Ecuador (Rey Banano del Pacífico). It is separated by less than 200,000 boxes.

The data for January 2022, from the Banana Marketing and Export Association (Acorbanec), reflect an enormous recovery of the group, which two decades ago was the largest exporting company in Ecuador.
Noboa has started exporting directly again, a company executive confirmed. According to Acorbanec, the company went from 718,042 exported in January of last year to 2,094,810 in the first month of 2022, that is, almost 192% more in that period.
Thus, it displaced Agzulasa, Comersur (Palmar) and Frutadeli. The latter had a drop of 47.01%. This company had problems in Turkey. That affected its image.
| Business | In boxes 2021 | In boxes 2022 |
| dole | 4,126,780 | 3,650,787 |
| banpac | 2,458,966 | 2,291,043 |
| Noboa Trading | 718,042 | 2,094,810 |
| Agzulase | 1,085,067 | 1,218,779 |
| Comersur | 1,238,337 | 1,160,824 |
| fruitdeli | 1,779,281 | 942,855 |
The problem with Frutadeli is that in Turkey they buy less from it and in Algeria the licenses were closed only recently and will open in March.
Of the 34.08 million boxes of bananas exported at the end of January 2022, the main
exporter is the company Ubesa (Dole) with a 10.71% share, followed by Reybanpac, with 6.72%.
Total banana exports fell by 9.14% in the first month of 2022.
According to Acorbec, of 34.08 million boxes, 25.62% went to the European Union, 23.99% to Russia, 15.32% to the Middle East; 10.87% to the United States, 7.81% to Eastern Europe, 5.59% to the Southern Cone. The rest went to East Asia, Africa; 0.96%, UK, Oceania (New Zealand), EFTA (Norway).
