Andres Paez warns of lack of guarantees for the electoral transparency
Posted On 15 Mar 2017

The activity of vice presidential candidate Andrés Páez (CREO-SUMA party) focused yesterday in Quito on media visits and campaign coordination meetings.
In that scenario, the hopeful warned that there is a lack of guarantees for a transparent electoral process for the next elections, but assured that citizens will join the monitoring actions.
He indicated that there are clear intentions to carry out an electoral fraud, but this has provoked the adhesion of countless citizens because the people are against the fraud. He also contended: “If they want to win, they will have to win in the polls and not with fraud.”
He rejected that the CNE, through the coordinator of electoral processes, Diego Tello, insists on using the black marker instead of the blue one to fill the summary records of the election results, when they know that the scanner does not recognize that color.
Paez added that Tello should explain why at 20:00 on February 19 the CNE database was still feeding, but “they denied the people’s access to the website for a period of four hours.”
And he insisted on the call to the social pact to confront the correism, which will allow to include all sectors in a base of governability.
His office, which is located in the northern center of the capital, became the center of operations of the election campaign. In this place, proposals are designed and the routes are coordinated.
