This July 3, 2016, the Army issued a communiqué on an incident in which a group of military is involved. The communiqué reads: “The Ecuadorian Army before the images circulating on social networks in which four members of the Ecuadorian Army appear physically and verbally assaulting a driver on Friday afternoon July 1, 2016, in Salinas, Santa Elena province, regrets what happened, and considers this as an isolated case.”

Hence the Land Force has begun an investigation to determine the application of the sanctions specified in the Rules of Military Discipline for those involved in this act. And clarifies that the legal measures taken by the driver will not be restricted.
