Around 360 women are fishermen in Ecuador

For those who love the taste of seafood, thinking about how the fish arrived at the table is not a transcendental matter.
But knowing that around 360 women are fishermen, involved in the collection of shells, crabs, and shrimp; could mark a difference.
This is a hard labour if one must consider the perils of dealing with pirates; and the hardships of managing a net, traps and baits. Fishing is an art usually managed by men.
Nevertheless, women have known the way to conquer this space. It is not surprise that the leader of the artisanal fishermen, today, is a woman. (I)
