Assembly acquiesced to partial veto for reform that transfers pension funds to the Biess
Posted On 12 Nov 2014
The Assembly yesterday acquiesced to the veto of President Rafael Correa to the reform that modifies the operation of supplementary pension funds. The text will now be sent to the Official Register.
One of the controversial points of this reform is the presence of the figure of the auditors. Betty Carrillo, from Alianza País, said that the Superintendency of Banks from the beginning of the audit until the transfer of the Supplemental Closed Pension Funds will appoint an auditor.
These officers shall be elected on merit and opposition.
In this way, closed-end funds that have received state support will pass to the administration of the Biess.
