Austrian exceeded sound barrier

Felix Baumgartner, a 43-year-old Austrian exceeded the speed of sound in his free fall of 39,045 meters of height, after reaching a maximum speed of 1,342 kilometres per hour (Mach 1,24) according to the organizing mission.
The free fall of Baumgartner was of four minutes and 20 seconds; he couldn’t defeat the previous record of four minutes and 36 seconds. Experts located his free fall in a top speed of 373 meters per second.
Baumgartner gained the record of throwing in a parachute from the highest place and rising in a balloon to the highest point from the earth. It’s yet to be confirmed if he exceeded the speed of sound without mechanical aid. AV
