Automotive: The new quota system caused exhaustion in stock

The automotive industry is going through a new misstep: they are about to run out of cars to sell, according to the new quarterly calculation that determines the maximum quota assigned to import.

After”almost 2 months since the implementation of the new allocation scheme of quarterly quotas, (…) the allocated quota is exhausted a month before the end of this quarter”. This was stated in the letter of the Coordinating Minister of Production, Employment and Competitiveness, Vinicio Alvarado, and signed by Jaime Cucalón, president of the Automotive Ecuadorian Association (AEA).
