Baltazar Ushca graduated from elementary school

In the Ricardo Alemán Fierro Municipal Hall of the Guano canton, with the presence of Lidia Tobar, manager of the Basic Education for Youth and Adults (EBJA) project, Raúl Cabrera, mayor of Guano and authorities of the Zonal Coordination 3 of Education, Baltazar Ushca , the last icemaker from Chimborazo, 76 years old, received recognition for the effort and dedication during the training process of the “Todos ABC” campaign.

Since May 2019, Ushaca had the company of Mrs. Ercelinda Arévalo, 83, the two of them received classes together at the GADM Guano museum.

While the teacher Carlos Vinueza said that working with older adults has been a great challenge that he meets with satisfaction. “As educators we must have a vocation and that gift of teaching. We reached the objectives set with Baltazar and Ercelinda (Arévalo), joining the methodologies, now we hope that knowledge and learning do not stay here, that they are an example for future generations, and can motivate society to prepare. ” (I)
