Cerveceria national (CN) signed an agreement with the ecuadorian company Senefelder, for $3.5 million, to replace the all its brands lebels. In the next four years, the SABMiller subsidiary- the second brewery group in the world – will no longer buy $20 million in imported tags.
According to Vinicio Troncoso, Vice President of Corporate Affairs of CN, 3,000 domestic suppliers are involved in the project.
The State Under-Secretary of the Ministry of industry and productivity, Jorge Acaiturri, said that this and other agreements will help to generate dozens of jobs. “Ecuador is producing and competing abroad,” he added.
However, the importing industry, which has been restricted in the purchase of products from abroad, has had serious complications in their activities and, on the other hand, they considerer that this measures will cause losses to small and medium enterprises, something that would generate employment reduction.
