Booby-Trapped Package Sent to President Sarkozy

This last Monday the Greek police intercepted a booby-trapped package addressed to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, this occurred after another parcel exploded in a Courier office in Athens.

A police spokesman informed Reuters: “One of the explosive devices that the suspects were carrying was addressed to the President of the French Republic, Nicolas Sarkozy.”

The spokesman commented that similar packages have been addressed to the embassies of Belgium, Netherlands and Mexico. The latter one exploded in a courier office in Athens, slightly hurting a female employee. The others parcels were detonated by the police.

“Police believes there is no link with Al Qaeda. We are still investigating.” Were the reports of the police spokesman, adding that the two men responsible were apprehended.
