Brazil and Ecuador, among countries with the highest number of fraudulent emails

Brazil and Ecuador were the Latin American countries with the highest number of victims in 2015 of “phishing” attacks, in which users are tricked through emails or fake websites, according to a global study on Internet security.

“Latin America has always been a very attractive territory for cyber criminals and therefore, we can also see the presence of countries in the region on the ‘top’ of “spam” issuers, said today Dmitry Bestuzhev, director for Latin America of the Global Analysis and Research team of the computer security company Kaspersky Lab, the firm that conducted the study.
