Brewery Fights to Stop an “Illegal and Unfair” Sentence
National Brewery Workers announced yesterday that they were taking in to the guarantee the right of resistance according to art. 98 established in the Ecuadorian Constitution. This came hours after the Third Criminal Chamber of Guayas, sentenced the company to pay 90.9 million to former workers for unpaid utilities for over 20 years.
More than 1,400 employees currently working at Brewery, presented a statement which specifies that present an extraordinary action to protect, in order to stop an “illegal and unjust” sentence dictated on Wednesday.
The third Chamber ordered to pay for 21 unpaid years, however there are just three unpaid years, they explained. They say that “against any law” an economic repair is being dictating, when that should be done in separate ways in front of a judge and in a verbal summary trial.
On the other hand, plaintiffs took to the streets demanding Francisco de Orellana, in Guayaquil to march as a way of support for the protective action
