Toyota will Assemble Cars in Ecuador

A visit made 15 days ago in the port of Manta by technicians of Toyota Tsusho Corporation, the global car manufacturer, has been vital to this economic group to choose the port of Manta as an entry for their vehicle parts into the country.
In late 2012, Toyota plans to enter monthly 200 containers with parts and accessories used to assemble vehicles, said chairman Roberto Salazar, Manta Port Authority (MPA).
“The projection is to build a vehicle assembly. Investors are conducting studies to determine the location in the country where they could implement the project. Manta has not been discard,” said Guillermo Morán, Manta Port Authority (MPA) manager.
