Bridge on Monjas Avenue Collapsed

During Monday morning, around 11 am, the bridge located at the monjas avenue collapsed when the centre of the structure gave in. the heavy maintenance machine that were working didn’t fell, but remain there due to their weight and size.

Transit officials from the Comision Transito del Guayas (Guayas Traffic Commission) performed operatives to diverge the traffic and avoid over trafficked streets. They also urged the drivers to look for alternative ways until the problem is solved.

Meanwhile the machines are stuck with the new pillars that were being installed, workers claim that the bridge fell due to their weight of the machines, and now they fear that if the tide rises the equipment might fell into the water.
