British law of cyber and phone surveillance is criticized by Snowden
The former agent of the National Security Agency U.S. (NSA) Edward Snowden has described as “incredible” the UK decision to introduce an emergency law to monitor internet and telephone calls.
In a statement to the newspaper “The Guardian” released today, Snowden considered that the circumstances do not exist to take forward a legislation of this type.
According to former NSA analyst, the government wants to pass a bill without “no debate” and although the European Courts considers illegal the preservation of the details of the users for a period of twelve months.
David Cameron’s government announced last week that it will be approved in coming days on the fast track the draft law, so that telecommunications and internet companies retain details of their users, which will allow authorities to access them in order to combat terrorism.
