Bucaram Pulley: “The people gets threatened if they do not join Assault Pais”
Assemblyman and national director of the Ecuadorian Roldosista Party (PRE for its spanish acronym), Abdala Bucaram Pulley, and other representatives of the movement, met today to denounce an alleged government campaign to prevent the collection of signatures by parties who are not registered in the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym).
According to Pulley, the Government is promoting a campaign in which it indicates that the political parties or movements, recorded in the CNE for irregularities in their signatures, must not gain popular support in obtaining signatures for the movements’ enrollment or re-enrollment.
“The government threatens the people with the removal of their bonuses if they do not join a political organization other than Assault Pais (referring to the Alianza Pais movement), is terrible what is happening in Ecuador, my companions”, said the Assemblyman.
Alianza Pais movement launched two radio commercials:
- In the first radio spot is argued that Alianza Pais no longer collects signatures and therefore asks people not to let “cheat themselves“.
- In the second radio spot, the issue focuses on questioning the other parties, accusing them of alleged unscrupulous practices.
At the same time, the state news agency ANDES promotes a campaign called “Defend your signature“, which warns people not to deliver signatures to strangers. (MZ)
