Posted On 24 Sep 2014
This September 23, the Plenary of the Constitutional Court (CC) presented the reasons why they rejected the arguments presented by the three lawsuits of unconstitutionality against the Organic Communications Law (LOC for its Spanish acronym).
“It was not a simple topic to deal with,” said Judge Marcelo Jaramillo. He added that the process was delayed by the volume of analysis that should be done, but that in no way was related to with the processing of the CC.
The procedure in this instance delayed more than a year because the first case came in June 2013, days after that the Media Law was approved in the Assembly.
