Cell phones assembler industry in Ecuador expects to produce 1,200,000 units in 2014
The assemblers industry of cell phones in Ecuador shows growth and new investments; so they expect that for the end of 2014 its production will double, said Henry Aguilar, member for the Association of Electrical and Electronics Assemblers of Ecuador (AEDE2 for its Spanish acronym).
According to Aguilar, there are eight assemblers, three of them began to function this 2014, in Quito DDM, Goldentech in Duran and FactoryTech in Guayaquil.
“For this year we expect to double the production of assembled cell phones in the country, from 632,000 (2013) to 1,200,000 units,” said Aguilar, who added that from past January to August 733,000 units were produced.
The DDM assembler, which produces cell phones of the Yezz American brand, presented in early October its smartphones and basic models with prices ranging from $ 40 to $ 200.
While, with an investment of about $ 1 million, FactoryTech of the Eljuri group, produces three models of high-end equipment since last Februaryat its factory is located at km 16.5 of the Daule way.
