Chancellery rejects Trump’s decision on Jerusalem

The Foreign Ministry of Ecuador has expressed, through a communiqué “its rejection of the decision of the president of the United States to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to move its embassy to that city, as it is contrary to international law, to the resolutions of the Council of Security and the General Assembly of the United Nations on this subject “.
On Wednesday, Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in a speech at the White House. The announcement has been rejected on the entire planet, except in Israel.
“The declaration of the United States undermines international efforts to seek a negotiated, just and lasting solution in the region. Ecuador warns of the negative effects that the decision of that country may have on the recovery of peace talks between Israel and Palestine, “the Foreign Ministry statement.
