Change of ‘gender’ in identity card will require two witnesses

The person who wants to change the word ‘sex’ for ‘gender’ in the identity card shall present two witnesses to accredit a contrary self determination of the applicant´s sex.

Yesterday, with 82 votes in favor, the plenary of the Assembly _ fully adopted to the executive veto to the Identity Management and Civil Data bill that replaces the current Civil Registration Act. This, despite the government majority in the Commission on Autonomous Governments had proposed the ratification in order to avoid fulfilling this requirement.
