“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana,” was the statement issued today by Clarence House. The name of the new princess of the United Kingdom, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was revealed two days after the birth of the baby.

The name of who will be known as HRH Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, is a kind of homage to her grandfather, Prince Charles, her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and her deceased grandmother, Princess Diana of Wales. Charlotte of Cambridge is fourth in the line of succession to the British throne.
