City Hall Closes Emelec Administration
The administrative offices of Club Sport Emelec, in the George Lewis Capwell stadium were closed last Thursday. The City Hall closed the teams’ offices due to a debt of 190,000 dollars. According to El Universo newspaper, the Third Municipal Police Station informed that Emelec has only paid 25,000 of the 2004 debt.
During the beginning of the season the team was fined, the current pending payments belong to the tickets from the matches of the Ecuadorian Soccer Championship. Emelec suffered a similar altercation during the “Blue Night” a popular presentation of the team.
It was in that moment that there were talks with the City Hall to make the necessary payments in several parts. The problem was solved apparently, and Emelec could play its match. (AV)
