CNE closed yesterday the registration for nominations
The Chairman of the Committee of Support in the selection process to appoint the new Council for Citizen Participation (CPC for its Spanish acronym), René Maugé, said that the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym) expected that until midnight the number of applicants would increase for the competition; however, until 20:30 yesterday there were 145 registrants.
Maugé said that 600 people had registered online. “We will wait until midnight as they have to submit some documentation and some institutions have a delay of 24 to 48 hours,” he said.
“We have to choose 14 people, so until now we have surpassed the number to conform the Board with the best optioned,” he added.
He also noted that after having followed competitions (the CNE and the CPC), that possibly produced confusion among citizens, “that is out of our hands,” he said.
