CNE Councilor announced her support to a “well-founded” recount of votes

“I believe in democracy, I support a well-founded recount, if necessary.” This is the pronouncement counselor Ana Marcela Paredes, of the National Electoral Council (CNE), made this afternoon through her Twitter account.
Her words are due to the pronouncement of Guillermo Lasso, presidential hopeful of the CREO party, who announced the impeachment procedures of the results and the recount of votes for an alleged electoral fraud in Sunday elections.
The president of the CNE Juan Pablo Pozo announced on Tuesday that with a 99.5% of the scrutiny there is an irreversible victory for Lenin Moreno, of the Alianza PAIS (AP) party.
No matter how many times that missing percentage is counted, and all those votes go to the opposing party, does not change the result, he said.
He added that if any legal resources were filed, these should be well founded, “that is, showing the inconsistencies,” said Pozo.
In social networks, users were satisfied with the comment and demanded a recount of votes.
