President Correa criticized the work of the Ecuavisa TV network, which presented only the CEDATOS survey, which gave Guillermo Lasso the victory. He pointed out that with the Communication Law, Ecuavisa could be sanctioned, since he considers that this is an “attack on public faith, inciting violence, generating uncertainty where it did not exist.”
“In every democracy, all power must have its counter-power, without a doubt, the media, are afactic power,” he assured.
One instrument to defend us against the abuse of the fourth power is the Law of Communication, stressed the President, who said that the regulations empower citizens to demand their rights.
“That is why they want to repeal it so that they continue their abuses without limits,” said the President.
According to him, “with the Media Law, Ecuavisa will be sanctioned because what it has generated is an attack on the public faith, inciting violence, generating uncertainty where it did not exist.”

“They only publish the exit poll of these people (CEDATOS), the pollster that undoubtedly worked with this campaign, and gave Lasso 6 points more, the actual results are 2.3 more for Lenin Moreno. How can they have an 8.3 percent of error? That was a moral fraud of that pollster,” he told Telesur.
He also rejected the fact that Ecuavisa did not publish data from the other pollster Perfiles de Opinion, with the contrary results, he mentioned. “They never reported that,” he emphasized.
