CNE elected Juan Pablo Pozo as new president

The plenary of the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym), in session on Friday January 16, appointedJuan Pablo Pozo as the new president of the organization. Nubia Villacís was also elected this day as the new vice president, replacing Carlos Tayupanta.
“It is a great challenge and I assume it with humility, conviction, but especially with deep vocation of service,” said the new head of the CNE.
Furthermore, the CNE proceeded to give priority to Ana Marcela Paredes Encalada as a counselor in replacement of Gloria Toapanta, who submitted her resignation on January 15.
