CNE Faces Repercussions of False Signature Scandal

Currently the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym) is reviewing every document and movement of the political parties registered in the delegation. The signatures would then be sent to the capital of Ecuador, Quito where a graphological verification to determine if there was a forgery or not.
The investigation process is being led by the State Comptroller General. Patricio Bravo, the provincial director of CNE explained that the objective is to prove that the political parties’ movements fulfill the percentage of signatures to participate in the next electoral process.
Furthermore Bravo explained that if the political parties and movements do not fulfill the signature requisites with the minimal percentage, they a 24-hour option to collect the signatures again and if they do not complete the signatures their parties would be eliminated. AV
