CNE president admits that there will be a second round

The President of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Juan Pablo Pozo, confirmed last night that the counting of the 5% left of votes for the election of the presidential binomial would not change the trend and the second round between Lenin Moreno (Alianza PAIS) and Guillermo Lasso (CREO-SUMA) is a possibility.

Pozo admitted that at this point “the trend could no longer change because it is a marked tendency, but they will have to wait for the final results to declare whether or not there is a second round, we must wait for definitive results.”

After the scrutiny “this trend is established, but the CNE will officially report when 100% of votes are counted nationwide,” he said.
