The National Electoral Council (CNE) today starts the verification process of 100% signatures submitted by movements and political organizations to participate in the 2013 elections.
The CNE revealed that the process is going to be conducted by the Uruguayan company Controles Inc. without first having verified the perfect functioning of its computer system.
Controles Inc. was hired by the CNE for the design of the technology platform as an emergency measure that the Council can choose in the election period.
CNE President, Domingo Paredes, said that the software that is being used was applied to more than 84 million documents in the Civil Registry. MZ
