CNE will adjust budget for elections
The National Electoral Council (CNE) will cut at least $ 13 million of the approved budget last February for the elections of 2017.
This was reported by the council president Juan Pablo Pozo, who explained that the decision responds to several reasons, including the economic crisis resulting from low oil prices and the emergency in the country after the earthquake of last April.
The initial budget amounts to $ 131’569.931,27. A reduction of more than 10% would be done according to Pozo, that would not jeopardize the electoral process.
He explained that one of the situations analyzed is that each polling station no longer received 300 voters but at least 330, this would diminish their number since there would only be 40 thousand polling stations in the country.
