Cocoa Sector Begins Diversification
The cocoa industry of Ecuador strengthens its commerce. The city of Guayaquil developed its first International Congress with Cocoa Scent, from the chocolate and grain industry. The congress would end tomorrow with discussions and workshops regarding the quality of chocolate production.
The president of the Chocolate Federation from the United Kingdom, Philip Sigley, stated that the objective of these congresses is to improve the application of good industry policies, since Ecuador has a lot of potential for this business. “Many foreign industries are already investing in Ecuador to improve the product.”
Corpei organized the event and the Ministry of Industries, the ministry in charge Juan Francisco Ballen, stated that the idea to promote a prestige cocoa to offer an added value to clients related to liquor, butter and chocolate.
The congress counted with the participation of transport companies, logistics, chemical cocoa plans and even the food industry. The cocoa enterprise generates over 150 thousand employments.
