Code of Entities of Public Safety continues in wait for debate

The Committee on International Relations Sovereignty has not yet delivered the report for the second debate on the Code of Public Safety Entities.

In December, the Executive sent the draft law that restructures the police. Furthermore, it is argued that the military who want to integrate the Customs Surveillance Unit, the Transit Commission of Ecuador, the Forest Guard and the Corps of Correctional Guides, could request their transfer and incorporate with a higher rank to which they already had.

Mary Verduga (AP) said that after the February recess they have tried to meet in several times without success.

The last meeting was convened on Monday, but it was suspended.
