CONAIE demands to file proceedings against commoners

In 2012, both participated in the protests of the villagers who were opposed to the construction of a hydroelectric plant by the Hidrotambo company; and there were clashes with the police and the military. Yesterday, at 09:00, the adjudication hearing was installed in the Court of Criminal Guarantees of Bolivar.
Herrera said that the villagers raised their voices to defend their land: “they must be filed that process and release them so that our brothers can live in peace.”
The procedure was reserved. Before it began, the private security guard reported that only the people involved could enter. A squad of police officers then joined to enforce the provision.
