The mobile operators Otecel (Movistar) and Conecel (Claro) expect to sign today with the Ecuadorian government contracts to provide the 4G technology, said the vice presidency through a statement.
On February 2, both private enterprises closed negotiations with the government for the allocation of 4G network spectrum by $ 330 million: $ 180 million of Claro and $ 150 million of Movistar.
The Ministry of Telecommunications said that the technical terms, economic and legal conditions were taken into account.
Both, Movistar and Claro, when performing tests indicated that the speed of 4G will be ten times faster than the current 3G.
