Possible pardon for 30S policemen, according to President Correa
President Rafael Correa highlighted the work of the commission set up to investigate the events of September 30, 2010, under the direction of Carlos Baca, which got the sentence to 12 years in prison of 6 police officers involved in the crime of attempted murder.
“If these officers recognized their mistake and apologize to the country, following the authorization of the families of the victims, we could consider a pardon,” said Correa, after questioning the actions of the policeman betraying their vocation and who attacked those they had the obligation to protected.
At trial the Prosecution proved the involvement of the 6 police officers. Three of them were identified in video when shooting towards the Police Hospital from the bridge of Mariana of Jesus avenue, supported by experts of shooting, ballistic analysis, experts in audio and video, and with the help of Criminology of Colombia and a Dominican expert.
