Posted On 29 Jan 2014
Over seven years of administration, President Rafael Correa has threatened into giving up his position as top leader of the Government in Ecuador, as a strategy whenever a political deadlock occurs.
The most recent happened last weekend, when the President said he would prefer to resign from his office before “give in to the pressures” of the physicians, who initiated a protest by the eventual submission of the Assembly to the presidential veto of the Criminal Code (COIP).
This threat has been made on 12 different occasions throughout his tenure.
