Correa will dialogue with the European Council on tariff benefits for Ecuador

President Rafael Correa will take the oportunity today, August 7, during his stay in Bogota for the inauguration of the second term of the Colombian Juan Manuel Santos, to talk to the head of the European Council Herman van Rompuy, about tariff preferences for Ecuador
Correa announced he will discuss the announcement date of the agreement between the European Union (EU) and Ecuador and “the extension of tariff preferences, which was also negotiated.” He warned that at least about two years are needed to establish the benefits of the agreement.
Ecuador has with the EU a trade surplus. So far this year, Ecuador sold $ 1,290 million, while it imported $ 1,096 million.
