Correa Will not Send a Delegate to the Assembly for Media Law

Posted On 09 Jun 2011

Ecuadorian President, Rafael Correa, decided not to send a delegate to the Assembly in order to participate in the preparation of the Media Law draft.

Minister of Policy, Doris Soliz, confirmed yesterday the decision of the president, who said days ago that he was willing to compromise on the issue.

Question 9 of the last referendum outlines the creation of a regulatory board to regulate the media content and further establish subsequent responsibility criteria for them. Upon the approval of this question, it must be accomplished as soon as possible.
