Correa will present a protection action after a resolution on Captain Ortega

President Rafael Correa said Wednesday night August 24, 2016 that a constitutional protection action will be brought by the Council Resolution of military discipline in the Ortega case.
The council of military discipline of the National Navy unanimously rejected as inadmissible the process of sanction against Captain Edwin Ortega, brought by the Ministry of Defence.
Ortega publicly rejected an email from the head of state.
On August 10, 2016 General Army Commander Luis Castro, requested to file the reforms of the Law on Social Security of the Armed Forces Social Security Law, the National Police and the Pensions Law of Armed Forces, currently debated in the National Assembly.
Tonight, during a television interview, the president said that Castro committed a “a serious offense.”
