Cruise linea that arrives in Manabí left $ 2.8 million this season

Manta, Manabi: With the Carnival Splendor arrived in 3760 tourists and 1,150 crew members
Each year, Manta, one of the main ports of Ecuador, located in the province of Manabí, attracts thousands of national and international tourists who travel by private cars, buses, by air and even on cruises.
The arrival of these aquatic resorts to this port represents an average of $ 2.8 million in revenue per season, between October and May. This season began on October 30, 2012 with the arrival of Veendam (1,800 people, tourists and crew).
Until last Tuesday it was stationed at the sea port the cruise ship Carnival Splendor, which brought 3,760 tourists and 1,150 crew members. According to projections of tourism authorities, each passenger spends around $80 when visiting the Manabí coast; it means that the arrival of the Carnival Splendor represented for artisans, taxi drivers, bus owners and restaurants in Manta, Montecristi and Puerto Lopez about $ 400,000.
Until next May, it’s expected the arrival of 19 cruises, it means 24.768 tourists and 11.065 crew members.
