Defense Ministry clarifies ‘involuntary error’ of Ricardo Patino

An “Involuntary mistake.” This is the expression used in a bulletin of the Ministry of Defense to clarify the statements of Minister Ricardo Patino on the staff reduction of the Armed Forces to 35,000 miitaries in “2020.”
On Monday, during a tour in a military division in Sangolqui, Patino said that the government expects to reduce the military personnel to 35,000 by 2020, as part of the modernization of the institution.
In the statement, the Ministry clarified that the goal is to make this reduction until 2025.
According to the Government, the income reduction in training schools should be 50% each year.
