Democratic bank members present migratory reform in the United States
A new comprehensive reform draft was presented yesterday by the Democratic bank in the lower Chamber, in a new attempt to give importance to the issue overshadowed this week by several partisan disagreements that led to the first partial shutdown of the federal Government in 17 years.
Nancy Pelosi, representative from California, when she presented the draft , together with other 22 members, said that the legislation that they propose “is 100% bi-partisan”.
The new draft replaces an amendment included in the Senate that sought to invest 49 billion dollars to strengthened the border security, by a security law that was earlier approved by the National Security Committee of the lower house.
So far, the Congress maintains the immigration reform in limbo, since the Republican majority in the lower House refuses to discuss the draft approved by the Senate last June, which grants undocumented migrants the option of naturalization.
