Demostration by the Global Action Day in favor of the right to strike

Representatives of workers from various countries will comply this February 18 actions against the elimination of the right to strike that would be now beingstudied at the ILO (International Organization of Workers), agency of United Nations (UN) responsible for employment and rights at work.

In compliance of these actions, in Ecuador there will be a demonstration in front of the UN headquarters in the north of Quito.

On this site, at 15:00, the concentration of a hundred people who oppose the elimination of the benefit is planned, said Edwin Bedoya, Vice President of the Ecuadorian Confederation of Unitary Class Organizations of Workers (CEDOCUT).

This is an initiative of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) which called the Global Action Day in defense of freedoms and the right to strike, facing the debate on this issue that will be done on 23 and 25 February, within the ILO.
